ScanFry works without an account, advertising or tracking tools. No photos are sent to a server.
On-device analysis
Photos and their text are analyzed locally using Apple technologies. Scanning works without Apple Intelligence.
Online searches
A barcode or search terms may be sent to Open Food Facts. Network requests also transmit the IP address needed for the connection. Product images are downloaded from Open Food Facts. These exchanges are subject to its privacy policy.
Storage and deletion
History, settings, quotas and the cache are stored on your device. You can delete history and clear the cache in the app. Favorites sync with your iCloud account; remove a favorite in the app to delete that synced state.
Purchase and notifications
Apple processes the ScanFry Pro purchase; ScanFry does not receive your payment details. Cooking alerts are local notifications, subject to your iOS permissions.
This website
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or advertising. Like any host, GitHub may log visitors’ IP addresses to keep the service secure. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
