Scan a product
Allow camera access in iOS Settings. Frame the barcode or photograph a sharp, well-lit label. Review the detected food and weight. If recognition fails, use manual entry or the Foods guide.
Offline use
The cooking guide and converter work offline. Open Food Facts records, iCloud sync and purchases need a connection. Photos are analyzed on your device.
ScanFry Pro
Five scans and five conversion sessions are included. Adjustments within the same conversion session do not consume multiple credits. Pro unlocks unlimited scans and conversions, history and calibration with a one-time purchase and no subscription. Apple’s displayed purchase price applies.
To recover Pro, open Settings in ScanFry and tap “Restore purchase” using the Apple account used for the purchase. If the price does not load, check your connection and try again.
Timer and notifications
Allow ScanFry notifications and sounds in iOS Settings. Silent mode, Focus and notification settings may affect alerts. Check their behavior on your phone before relying on them.
Data and privacy
Delete history and clear the cache in the app’s settings. Remove favorites within the app to remove their synchronized iCloud copy. Read the privacy policy for details about local processing and Open Food Facts requests.
Cooking guidance
Times are estimates. Follow manufacturer instructions, avoid overcrowding the basket and check core temperature with a suitable thermometer.
Units
On first use, the US region defaults to °F and lb; the UK and France default to °C and g. Choose °C/°F and g/lb/oz in Settings. Previously saved preferences are preserved. Weight entry accepts a decimal point or comma.
